Gugu Makhanya

Gugu Makhanya, SAICA’s Transformation and Growth Project Director, manages the Thuthuka Education Upliftment Fund-allocated projects (at school, undergraduate and QE levels) from the proposal and fundraising stage through to contracting, implementation, monitoring, reporting and closure.

She holds a BAdmin degree from the University of Zululand, an honours in Industrial Psychology from the University of KwaZulu Natal, a Higher Diploma in Corporate Law and certificates in Project Management and Public Relations.

Makhanya has extensive experience in project management. Before joining SAICA, she worked as a recruitment consultant at Quest Personnel after which she joined NBS Bank (now BoE). She also worked briefly as a public relations officer for an interior decorating warehouse.
