Dr Thembi Masekela

Dr Thembi Masekela has held senior positions in management accounting and strategy. Her work experience includes roles at the four big South African banks, namely Nedbank, Absa, First National Bank and Standard Bank. She holds a PhD in Business Management with a strategic management focus and her thesis titled ‘Drivers and hindrances of strategy execution using the balanced scorecard’ unveils why many companies struggle with strategy execution. She used to be a part-time lecturer in Strategic Management at Wits Business School and GIBS and is passionate about strategy execution. Before joining SAICA, she was a Senior Manager: Strategy for the South African National Blood Service.
